The beef carpaccio was a huge portion and perfect. Don't fill up on their bread, though it's warm and perfect. Nonetheless the food is good and the portions are big. That was an extremely disappointing way to end our meal and experience here. Unfortunately that means when we finished our entrees we weren't offered coffee or dessert and were simply handed the check. They were already packed by 7 and by the time we left people were waiting well into the restaurant because there isn't a proper waiting area. It was juicy, salty and a creamy and the spinach was an amazing accompaniment.ĭefinitely revisiting this amazing, cozy restaurant.Ī reservation is simply a must on a Friday night. Off the menu – chicken with mozzarella and light marinara with risotto with spinach. It was perfectly seasoned and didn't miss putting extra grated cheese. Just wish there were some lightly tossed broccoli rabe to cut the fatty richness.įettuccine with white clam sauce – fresh clams and not too drenched in butter. Osso bucco with risotto – salty, meaty and the bone marrow was rich. Let me just tell you, the staff were hospitable, sincere and provided excellent service!Īppetizers: dozen oysters with shrimp cocktail – incredibly fresh and horse radish was grated fresh!Īrtichoke – breading was flavorful and creamy but the artichoke was slightly overdone.įresh mozz, tomatoes and prosciutto de Parma with an aged balsamic – amazingly sweet, creamy and salty.Įntrees: Specials – homemade fettuccini with langoustines, lump crab meat, large shrimps, and 1/2 lobster in a pink sauce was cooked to perfection and tasted creamy and of the sea. We didn't make reservations but were seated within 5 minutes. However, hope that they can sort out some of the minor inconsistencies in the kitchen. The broccoli rabe was also a bit on the mushy side as well. On the other hand, the chicken Francese was a bit overcooked. They weren't skimping out of the seafood either. The seafood risotto on the regular menu was also stellar, probably one of the better ones that I've had in a very long time. The grilled baby octopus and langoustine appetizer was excellent both in taste and presentation. I think some of the specials may be a bit too hefty on the price, but decided to go with one of the appetizer specials, which turned out to be fantastic. They had a lot of tasty sounding specials. The wine was also taken care of promptly. The meal started off with some complimentary bruschetta and warm bread. Probably would have to park in Piccolo's lot. Really nice Italian BYOB with great service. Would recommend for a casual night out when you want to feel kinda fancy, but not fancy enough to dress up or go out of your way for food. It is a better restaurant than the standard eatery but by no means is it "classy" and I don't know why I would pay 35 bucks when there are comparable Italian eateries offering the same food, (less service?) for 10 dollars less a few blocks away. The place tries to be on the fancier side and it's just not there yet. The place is casual, walking in here with a tee shirt and shorts isn't uncommon. (5$ – would pay 2$)Īll in all this meal cost about 35$ and honestly, had it been 25$ I would've gave it a 5/5 rating. Even with a packet of sugar it was still harsh (and grainy). (10$ – would pay 7$)Įspresso here is slightly different as it's much thicker and stronger than what you'd find in a standard cafe. Very enjoyable and different than cake or ice cream, kind of a meeting point for both. Sort of a heavier and milkier whipped cream. (18$ – would pay 13$)ĭessert was homemade cream and fruits. The pasta was cooked a little past al dente which I'm not used to but still enjoyed. Probably the meatiest ravioli I've had – it's like tiny hamburgers in a pasta bun. The ravioli didn't take long to come out and wasn't inedibly hot, just needed to be cut into quarters. I opted for meat ravioli.Īfter telling the waiter my order another came with an appetizer (it was only one bread slice with oiled salad on top) but none the less a delicious and nice gesture. I'm always a fiend for good lasagna, however the waiter told me it wasn't an option today. Very clean and good temperature air with shades to block out the setting sun. Room was a nice intimate space but had plenty of walking room between tables. Really wanted to give this place 5/5 but just can't do so with the price range of the food they serve.įrom start to finish I had no complaints.
